We answer one kind of question: the AI gave you a number — is it right, and right for you?

What we do

Ask an assistant how much a cup of flour weighs and you get a single figure, delivered with total confidence. Open seven trusted baking sources and you find seven different numbers, 22 grams apart. Neither the assistant nor most websites mention the gap, yet the gap is the part that decides whether your cake works.

We publish that gap. Every figure, every source, and the reason they differ — which is almost always a method or condition nobody asked you about.

Why single answers fail

Language models return the most statistically common answer in their training data. That is a reasonable default and a poor fit for any question where the correct answer depends on your circumstances. The failure is rarely that the number is invented; it is that a conditional answer gets presented as an unconditional one.

How we work

Every check names its sources and links them where they are publicly available. We record the date each figure was read, and what each AI assistant returned at that time. Where we are uncertain, we say so rather than rounding to a confident-sounding number. Full detail in our method.

How we are funded

Display advertising. Advertising has no influence over what we check or what we conclude — a source either published a figure or it did not. We do not sell products, we do not take sponsorship from any organisation we cite, and we do not accept payment for inclusion.

What we are not
